YOU ARE HERE ARTS FESTIVAL (AKA THE MAZE)

www.troublemaze.com / facebook / @TROUBLESTUFF

I am working on a DIY art/music festival called the You Are Here Festival, aka The Maze. As the name suggests, it is a giant interactive maze.. This year The Maze will take place July 12 - Aug 4 at Secret Project Robot in Brooklyn, and we’re also taking it to Berlin in October. The festival is produced by the art duo Trouble (sculptor Laura Paris, and Sam Hillmer from ZS/Diamond Terrifier). It is a truly crazy environment and I am very excited to be helping to curate a series of performances to take place within it.

Junius - “Betray The Grave”

New video from our Junius fam!

@juniusmusic @ProstheticRcds

Stream: Win Win, “Walls” via The FADER
Stream the B-side to Win Win’s new “Ones and Zeros” single, a cover of Crass’ “Walls”!
With the ample dose of fun that Win Win (producers Chris Devlin, from Spank Rock, DJ Ghostdad and XXXchange) have injected into “Walls,” you might not guess they’re covering a prolific British anarcho-punk band. Though the dizzying vocal arpeggios are remarkably similar to Crass’ 1979 original, the song’s subversive political sentiments—Without your walls I am alive/ Without your walls we all survive—feel spunky and exuberant here, rather than indignant or antagonizing…

Alcest - Seattle, WA / April 12th, 2012

Last night we hosted an after party for the premiere of ‘Hit So Hard’, a new documentary telling “The Life & Near Death Story of Patty Schemel”. Set at Public Assembly in Williamsburg, the event was initially to feature a very special performance from Patty, Melissa, and Eric of Hole.
Then, we got word that Courtney might show up, and sure enough we ended up hosting a reunion of one of the most historical and important bands in modern music, breaking a 15+ year span of having not shared a stage together.
Some friends in the press caught wind and came out to check it out.

Untrue And International: Living In A Post Black Metal World
Brad Sanders celebrates the 25th anniversary of the birth of modern black metal by looking at how the genre has finally emerged from the long shadow cast by the True Norwegian scene and where it is headed.
“Now, more than at any other time in the genre’s history, the door is open to bands who want to take the traditional black metal framework and rework it into a seemingly endless array of disparate shapes and functions. More importantly, the best of these bands are finding acclaim with both heavy music neophytes and entrenched metal warriors alike…”

“If you hung out Noisecreep’s office in the last few months, you would be well-acquainted with Junius. Last year, the Boston-based quartet’s Reports From the Threshold of Deathalbum wowed rock critics with its alluring blend of post-rock atmospherics and metallic muscle. It’s no wonder we included it on our ‘Best Metal Albums of 2011’ list.”
