Vessel, a new song from Grouper off her split 12” with Christchurch NZ guitarist Roy Montgomery. Grouper is Portland Oregon’s Liz Harris, a solo ambient soundscape experiment focusing mainly on guitars, piano, vocals and noise. Liz creates a huge amount of music and has an incredible catalogue. On this split, side A is an 18+ min Roy Montgomery track, and Grouper offers 4 songs on side B. (2010).

From Root Strata site:

“We do not & will not have hard copies of this 12” to sell. Roy Montgomery offers up a live version of “fantasia on a theme by sandy bull (slight return)’ recorded in Christchurch, NZ. Grouper’s side ‘Vessel’ is comprised of four short pieces on piano & vocals. Please see the links page for a list of our digital distributors.”

More Noise <3

If you’re like us, you like sound. You love sound. You feel sound. Part of your love and fascination w music lies the in the power (tangible/intangible) of sonic communication in its many shapes and forms. We love noise, no matter how it is (dis-) organized. As such, we are going to start posting more ambient/noise/drone/experimental music. We knew you’d be excited, we have so much in common.
